World Race Training Camp, It was MORE than just a time of training for the world race.
Yes, I was trained in many areas from how to take showers without the option of hot water- (the cold bucket shower), and cultural customs, and rules to many powerful sessions on many different topics and field scenarios including an airport layover- which I actually got to experience (yay me) on my way home from training camp- in San Francisco as I spent 10+ hours in the airport…However that wasnt my first walk in the park when it comes to dealing with and surviving a long layover.

They call it training camp because that is what it is BUT if you go into it with a closed mind- (thinking thats all it will be) then thats just what it might end up being. Everyones experience is different. For me, I wasnt even sure that I was even gonna be able to go to training camp until about 3 weeks before it started! So, if you could imagine how I was feeling before that and then when I found out that I was gonna be able to go~ I knew God Wass gonna do some big things in those weeks to come!

Trust has always been a push and pull between me and God-to be honest I haven’t always trusted him fully in every area of my life, and I still to this day am working on trusting him fully and completely BUT boy has God done some work in this area of my life and lots of that work happened at training camp! You see, I went in to training camp not even knowing if I would actually go on the race because of where my funds were at. That was EXTREMELY nerve-racking and challenging for me, and I battled with my emotions almost every day at training camp because I knew God had me at training camp for a reason BUT I was unsure of what he was doing behind the scenes of this world race journey that he has called me on.

Faith is also something that I have learned to walk out in my life- thru many challenges, struggles and different experiences I have practiced it and I definitely have been stretched to use my faith during this world race journey first off by purchasing my round trip ticket to Georgia for training camp BEFORE I even knew if I was going to be able to go! That was not easy! & Then during the storytelling workshop that happened before training camp God was speaking to me a lot about my trust in him and even coming to training camp. He basically told me to not check my e-mail the whole time I was at training camp- because checking my e-mail would allow me to see if anyone made a donation to my world race funds. I did wrestle with it, but I obeyed.

It was VERY hard not knowing where my funds were at during training camp and not knowing if I was gonna be able to launch with my squad in August. & to this very day of June 23, 2018 I still don’t know if I will be BUT the amazing community of J squad that God so perfectly placed me within were there for me every day to pray with me, encourage me and love me even when I was battling with my insecurities and emotions and even though we are all miles and miles away now- they continue to be there for me! More about the wonderful J Squad in another blog post coming SOON!

God did so much in my life in many areas but my faith and trust was grown and stretched and this happened!
