It’s hard to believe BUT I have been on the world race for 100 days as of 11/15/18! I am in Botswana for month 4 and wanted to share 100 glimpses of my journey thus far! Here you go!

1.Sharing the love of God isn’t just doable with words, it also bears fruit with Actions!

  1. Bucket showers aren’t really that bad! They are actually really refreshing if it’s a hot day, especially here in Botswana!
  2. Life will often test you, especially in challenging situations on the world race!
  3. Dehydration is a real thing, I unfortunately experienced it here in Botswana.
  4. Community is what you make of it!
  5. Feedback is a wonderful thing, even if it hurts a little.
  6. Encouragement keeps me moving forward.
  7. Debriefs are awesome!
  8. All squad month in month 1 in the Dominican Republic was one of my favorite months so far!
  9. I love love love when all of my squad comes together after going our seperate ways!
  10. It’s about the journey, not the destination!
  11. I have now been to the DR 2 times!
  12. Arepa’s (fried bread with onions) are the bees knees!!!
  13. Patience is something I possess but I have noticed myself struggle with it on the race a bit.
  14. Love is best shown, not just spoken.
  15. WiFi is a gift and treasure-not to be taken for granted!
  16. Life moves so so fast when you are so busy and doing lots!
  17. There are beautiful flowers in every country and some are very similar!
  18. The food is amazing food everywhere!
  19. Church in other languages is my favorite! 
  20. The upper deck in the DR has been one of my most favorite places to worship, hang out and have quiet time!
  21. Teaching English at a school in the DR is one of the highlights of my race so far! 
  22. Deimi’s tea is the BEST!
  23. Walking in the pouring rain to go get tea with 2 of my lovely squadmates/friends was a beautiful adventure!
  24. Sometimes you rub the wrong way with people, but you work it out.
  25. You can’t always drink the water!
  26. Being away from family and friends is HARD.
  27. God is always moving even when you can’t see what he is up to!
  28. Intentionality is very important to me, in life in general but especially in this season of the world race!
  29. Stay hydrated always!!!!
  30. Taking it easy is important, rest and time for yourself is important.
  31. WhatsApp is gold!
  32. Photos and videos are life!
  33. Movies are something my team 1010 fierce and I enjoy ALOT!
  34. Laughter is infectious!
  35. There is a beach in Haiti that reminded me of some of the beaches in Maui!
  36. Emotions and expressing them is important.
  37. One challenge or problem is not more important or less important then the other!
  38. Bug spray is nessesary! 
  39. Exercising keeps you active and your body strong!
  40. Dance parties with the kids here in Botswana are life giving!
  41. Essential oils are essential! 
  42. Love is the language that has no barrier!
  43. Card games brighten my days!
  44. Learning from my squad and team has been amazing!
  45. Children everywhere are beautiful and bring me so much joy!
  46. Sharing my story is very important!
  47. Languages are beautiful!
  48. Serving others brings me joy!
  49. Sunsets in other countries make my day and carry so much meaning for me!
  50. Seeing a rainbow at a beach in Haiti was such a cool thing!
  51. Deeply connecting with people is one of my favorite things to do!
  52. Trying candy in every country is so fun!
  53. So far, chocolate has been delicious in every country!
  54. Fasting is something I am continuing to learn about.
  55. I wore a sweater or jacket almost every day at some point of the day in South Africa!
  56. A cappuccino in a cone is such a fancy treat! (I loved it)
  57. Fans in hot countries are not to be taken for granted!
  58. Hot chocolate in the DR is extra yummy! 
  59. Coffee on the race is a must!
  60. Faith and trust are things I will always hold on tight too, God is also still growing me and teaching me about them!
  61. God told me to take risks on the world race, so far I have taken 2 big ones!
  62. Vulnerability isn’t always easy but in the end it’s worth it!
  63. In Africa- they call fries “chips”
  64. Coffee/Tea is not super popular here in Botswana.
  65. I learned how to tune my ukulele last month (in month 3) thanks to my sweet team leader Claire!
  66. My team and team Gospel Girls sang in a choir last month with some of the guys that work on the log home!
  67. Washing your own clothes by hand is not only a workout-it helps you to make sure your clothes are clean!
  68. Fundraising is not always a walk in the park, but it’s more than worth it!
  69. Music is life!
  70. Worrying doesn’t do any good.
  71. Having cards/letters to open has been such a fun and uplifting thing!
  72. Skirts can be worn many different ways!
  73. Portable cell phone chargers save the days!
  74. Travel days are long!
  75. I love writing notes for people to uplift and encourage them!
  76. Journaling has become more than a daily practice but something I love doing!
  77. Devotionals on my bible app are great!
  78. Going thru an inner healing session in Haiti has been the beginning of healing for me in many areas of my life!
  79. Popcorn has become a favorite!
  80. I have ears! (I can hear things from far far away and I often know where people are if someone asks where they are)
  81. My laptop (might) be totally dead-but I am praying and hoping that it’s not!
  82. Roobios tea is a favorite!
  83. My squad truly reflects Jesus! Which is why I like to refer to it as the Jesus squad!
  84. My mom and sister Kanani are 2 of my biggest supporters and cheerleaders! I am so thankful for them!
  85. Our squad coaches brought us bags of Halloween candy at our month 1 debrief! It was seriously the best!
  86. I have seen cotton candy clouds (pink fluffy clouds) every month so far on the race!
  87. I absolutely love that many of my squad mates/team mates know my love for the cotton candy clouds and call for me if they see them!
  88. God has changed my prospective about manual labor to be his prospective!
  89. Friend dates and coffee dates are a big joy for my heart!
  90. Every month I have let go of something.
  91. Now, if I pick something new up-I also let go of something.
  92. Free tables are fun and also interesting!
  93. Traveling can take a toll on skin and hair-but it does something even bigger to the heart: it changes it, softens it, opens it and encourages it to grow!
  94. Wearing the same clothes all the time isn’t all that bad, especially if you have a system like me.
  95. Rusks are one of my new favorite snacks!
  96. Tingly hands are a sign of dehydration!
  97. Staying in contact with friends and family is a bright light that shines always!
  98. Home is not only the island of Maui but for this season of the race it’s each country I visit!
  99. Freedom, Freedom in Christ and just being free, are beautiful, sometimes messy things that I am learning, growing in and fully grasping in this season of the world race!
